Close up project Critique

Critique 2/18/10

I really enjoyed Monday’s critique; it was very interesting to see what and how everyone decided to shoot for our close up project. I really liked that fact that most people picked up on my used of continuing horizon line throughout the photos in the group discussion. This shows that my technique was at least somewhat successful. I would really like to develop this idea of shooting extremely close up to actually create the effect of an enormous landscape.

I also received constructive critique as well when my professor pointed out the focus of all of my photos in directly in the center. I didn’t even realize at the time how I was actually limiting myself by only shooting in this way. I’m excited to expand the way I photograph close up by trying out focal points other than the direct center to see how I can shift the composition or message behind my photographs.
